Alright people it is time to pull your heads out....

Every four years this country goes through a process of electing an individual who is to represent the collective one of our nation. This person should exemplify all that is good about America, the strengths, the integrity and above all else the Unity. For it was unity that has banded us together from the days of the first man setting foot on these shores (before the white eyes came and screwed it up) to the shared sorrow and heartbreak of the attacks on the Twin Towers. That being said, what the hell is going on.

Just the other day there was an article regarding the Reverend Jesse Jackson and his use of language towards presidential canidate Barack Obama and how he "talked down to African Americans", now there is indication that the Reverend Jackson aslo used a colorful racial slur known as the "N" word towards Barack. For those of you who aren't aware of this both Revernd Jackson and Barack Obama are of the African American culture. (this is going to be a topic later, probally later today). So back to my original point, the following day on the ABC talk show "The View" a heated discussion between Whoopi Goldberg, Shar Jackson and Elizibeth Hassleback came about about the appropriatness of the use of this word. Here is my take on the word Nigger (there I said it). Any person of any race that feels it is an appropriate word to describe another human being is an idiot. I don't care if you are Asian, African, Indain, Native American, Caucasian (another term I hate), Hispanic (there all not from Mexico), for you to use this term along with .... spic, nip, chink, cracker, honkey, wop, mick, slope, gook, spook and on and on and on you are not only ignorant you are the reason that this world is so screwed up. I have always been a firm believer that I do not see color. I can't justify passing judgement on another person because of the pigmintation of their skin, the shape of their eyes, the way they grow their hair or any other physical characteristic. Not one person in this world asked to be born to any parent in any country in any situation so why do I get the chance to pass judgement on them and deem myself superior to them because I am "better". Get off your high horses we are all of the HUMAN RACE, the physical traits of different cultures are there because of the climates and enviornments that they live in, period. This prejudices are across the board. Do not justify using derogitory statements against your own race because it doesn't meen the same as when someone of another race uses it. Whe the Reverend Jackson used the word Nigger he used it in the same context as if David Duke (Grand Master of the KKK) had used it. I don't understand why we have to continue and teach our children to hate and resent those who are different. Here is a good idea teach tolerance, understanding and compassion. If something scares you because it is diffent, take the time to go out and learn about it, it may not be as scarry as you had thought to begin with. Here is another little known fact, the Christian religions that we are so tied to and base so much of how we live our lifes does not allow for the intolerance that people show towards others. "Love thy neighbor" is the passege, it does not draw exclusions for any person, it says to just love. I believe that if we are ever able as a society to get past the issue of race we can focus our energy towards more important issues, like preserving our world for those to come. I am a soldier and I have served my country proudly but if I were to loose my job tomorow because there were no more wars and people choses to resepect the rights and cultures of all others, I would gladly retire. Since I believe that it is more possible for the Winter Olympics to be held in Death Valley, I will continue my everlasting quest to change the oppinions of those out there who are open to new thoughts, able to think outside the box and can see the potential of a great new world, where hopefully my son will never have to go to war.

In the words of the late great Sgt. Phil Esterhaus on Hill Street Blues "Hey, Let's be careful out there"
