I know that there is an upcoming election and every party is vieing for control of both congress and the senate, but do we really have to be so damn hateful and mean to each other? I have yet to see one single political ad that states what the candidate wants to do for the country, they are all filled with accusations of what the other one did or didn't do. No one is willing to stand up and take responsibility for their actions for it is easier to just throw the blame on someone else.
Now I know that I have some anger issues and for the most part I think that most people are lazy, incompetent lemmings that seem to follow the newest thing, but have we gone so far as to hate everything. The right hates the left, the left hates the right, Christians hate the Muslims, Americans hate all foreigners, everyone who looks Hispanic is here illegally and should be deported right now, if you are Muslim then you must be a terrorist, if you are a democrat then you must hate this country and be a socialist, if you are republican you must hate everything that is not republican, if you are straight then you must hate everyone who is gay, if you are gay you must hate everyone who isn't gay because they must hate you. Where will it end and why do we do it. America is up in arms about a religious center being built two block away from ground zero in a building that has gone unnoticed and ignored since the attacks. Why is this an issue there are two churches right across from ground zero, oh yeah because the only people who died in the September 11 attacks were christian, right. No it is an outrage because political leaders have chosen to make it an issue and proclaim that it is really a front for the Taliban to gloat over their victory. Give me a fucking break people. Stop acting like sheep being led to the slaughter and believe everything we see or hear on CNN or FOX or MSNBC.
I guess what pisses me off more than anything is that there is so much blatant meanness out there. In KY a gentleman and his family lost their home, their possessions and their pets because he had not paid $75 fee for firefighter service. The fire dept came and watched his house burn to the ground. Really this is right. Here in the Pacific Northwest a 25 year old woman shoved a two year old down in anger because he wet his pants, the child is in critical condition after hitting his head on the pavement. A college student secretly tapes and broadcasts his roommates most intimate time to the world outing him leading to his suicide. Where does it end? We as a generation need to take up the mantel and restore human dignity to our existence. Pay it forward, random acts of kindness, tolerance or just plain humanity. We are not perfect in any way shape or form, but the ability to show compassion to me puts us up one step closer to a higher power (God, Buddah, Mohamed, Jesus, etc..)
Let's all do something to help pull our heads out of our asses and make it a better world for our kids, grand kids, nieces, nephews and ourselves.

Damn it's been a busy last couple of days.....
I am currently on activce duty for the next few weeks. I am at Port Huneme in Oxnard CA. and we have been getting ready to head up to Fort Hunter Liggett/Camp Roberts for our Ultra Fex. The good news is that I get to come right back to Port Huneme on Sunday so I can attend a class for a three days and then head back up north. I am looking forward to the 26th of this month as it is my 40th birthday and I get the oportunity to spend it with my Brother, Sisters, Mom, Wife and Son and all my neices and nephews, and I get the chance to meet an Uncle who was given up for adoption and I have never gotten to meet, so it will be pretty cool. Unfortunetly for every good there is bad and in this case a very dear friend of mine has sufered a terible loss. "T" is a nurse and at one time cared for a young child who was born with sever heart issues, for five years she cared fo this young man and watched him grow. This morning she received a call that he had passed away. Robert made it 13 years on this earth and now has left to what I believe will be a place where he doesn't have to worry about the pains that he has endured. But my thoughts and prayers go out for his family and I am sorry for their loss.
The world continues to move and there is trouble all over the damn place. It seems that everyone bitches about everyone else and how violent they are but it is perfectly ok for them to act like complete barbarians, go figure. We have warlords in Somalia sending out "pirates" to take over ships and hold them for ransom, sometimes killing crew members, then when they get their asses handed to them they scream foul and tell how they are going to retaliate for being persicuted. Now where I am from if you start a fight and get your ass kicked the right thing to do is shut your fucking mouth and buy a beer for the guy who just showed you that you aren't the toughest kid on the block. North Korea has gone from developing Nukes to developing rockets that can reach US soil to now stooping as low as what I consider kidnapping. By arresting and prosicuting the two american journalists it shows that this country has absolutly no regard to international politics and is by far the most dangerous country out there.
Iraq has held it's elections and now the world waits, who will be in power and whoever it is will they have the strength or even the deisre to take on the radical clerics that truly run that region.
That is all I have the desire to write tonigh. I hope all is well with everyone, always remember to do random acts of kindness, pay it forward is you will, love laugh and live. Smile, compliment someone who you don't know and remember this is not our world we are just borowing it for a limited time.

Memorial Day 2009
This is a day that is set aside to honor those who have given their lives in honor of this country. It is in my opinion that this honor is not only reserved to those men and women who serve in the Armed Forces but also our brothers and sisters in blue, those who man the firehoses and the ones who brave all elements and situations to save lives and care for the wounded.
It is on today that I offer my salute and my eternal thanks for the jobs you do, the sacrifices you make and the internal drive that allows you to perform where others would fail.
It is my honor and privledge to have served with you all. Love and Respect always

Ok to me this is funny
I just read an article about how last year the WWE (wrestling) had contracted out to rent the Denver Arena next monday night. Denver was happy to rent this out due to the fact that Basketball season would be over since Denver has not hosted a late season playoff final since 1985 there would be no problem and the arena would be available. Guess what Denver is scheduled to host game 4 of the west coast finals next monday and their arena is rented out. So now the are trying to figgure out what to do. Way to have confidence in your home team dumbasses. Vince McMahn has chanllenged the owner of the Nuggets to a cage match to settle the problem. You can't make shit like this up it is priceless.
I think that LA should take on the a team put together by the WWE. They would have a better chance than the Nuggets are going to have.
ok here are todays funnies and I know I am a guy but these were hilarious.
WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST
She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.
Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.
Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.
Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl.
And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.
Keep reading-they get better!!!

WOMEN'S REVENGE
'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet , I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked.
'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me,
And I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'

MARRIAGE SEMINAR
While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication,
Joe and his wife Ann listened to the instructor,
'It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes.'
He addressed the man,
'Can you name your wife's favorite flower?'
Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, 'It's Pillsbury, isn't it?

CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS
A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up & down the aisles.
The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.
He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife..
She directs him down the correct aisle.
A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter.
She says, confused, 'Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife?
He answers, 'You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store
To get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco
And some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo much cheaper.
So, I figure if I have to roll my own . So does she.
(I figure this guy is the one on the milk carton!)

WIFE VS. HUSBAND
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.
An earlier discussion had led to an argument and
Neither of them wanted to concede their position.
As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs,
The husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?'
'Yep,' the wife replied, 'in-laws.'

WORDS
A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day...
30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men..
The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?'

WHO DOES WHAT
A man and his wife were having an argument about who
Should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first,
And then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.
The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and
You should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.'
Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.'
Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'

The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home
And were giving each other the silent treatment.
Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him
At 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
'Please wake me at 5:00 AM.' He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight.
Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him,
when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.
The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.'

Sorry it has been a while
I started this blog as a way of communicating my feelings and working on my issues that I was facing after deployment. I took some time away from it and have decided that I enjoy posting my feelings, jokes and other matters of siginificance to me for others to see and reply, to stimulate thinking and debate, I am going to try and be more consistent with my posts and hope that I can meet new people, affect the way some people look at things and learn from all as I take their feedback and suggestions. So lets get going on a whole new adventure.
So a whole lot has happened since I last posted. We have a new President, this is a touchy subject for a lot of people, especially my friends out there who lean to the republican side of the ticket. Here is my take on it, and if my view is not the same as yours or you disagree with what I say let me know. If it makes you mad and you stop reading so be it.
President Barack Hussein Obama is our 44th president and the first of African decent. That in itself is considered quite an accomplishment. He is a Democrat from Illinois (not a socialist as many out there want to claim). For me I am quite happy with the choice, now don't get me wrong I was actually happy with the choices from both parties and I have beeen a supporter of Sen. McCain for many years. It was my oppinion that we would be better off with either of them than with the previous administration. I was not a fan of George W. Bush by any extent but he was my comander in cheif and I provided my support as long as he held office. There has been a lot of grumbling about President Obama's agenda and that he is trying to socialize the country he wants more government control, we are all going to be broke cause he is going to raise taxes, we are going to be attacked again by his Muslim brothers, he is the antichrist and my favorite is that he is not leagally our president because he is not an American. Get over yourselfs people, Warren Buffet who is one the most respected economists and investors in this nations history has come out and said "to make money you have to be willing to spend money" We are never going to get out of this recesion if we do not do somthing to stimulate growth and confidence in our economy we will continue to slide down the wrong path. Refoming health care has been an issue for more years than I can remember both republican and democrat no one has come up with a comprehensive program till now and now that someone has actually begain doing serious talking about it the naysayers are coming out of the woodwork. Just think about this .... is it really fair for the cost of medical care to have increased by over 400% the rate of natural infaltion? and for the cost of health insurance to be completley out of reach for the average family of four? just asking..... If you look at the agenda of the president he has consitently pushed for and advocated for stronger state governments and less federal government control, he is a constitutionalist, but until states start to pull their head out of their rectal orfices the federal government will continue to set policies and procedures to try and keep our heads above water.... The man is not a Muslim nor has he ever been. He was born in Hawaii no matter what the conspericy theroist state. Give the man a chance you don't have like all of his policies, hell you don't even have to like the man just give him a chance. We continued to support GW throughout his debacle of a presidency so why don't we see what Barak can do. So far he is the only president I have ever heard of make the statement "if after four years you are not happy with the job I have done, then vote someone else into the office so they can have a chance at doing a better job than what I have done." So stop listening to Rush, Cheney and all the other domsdayers and make an educated opinion on your own. I feel it is time that we stop looking at party lines as the way we vote and start looking at policies and how the canidates can help this nation become once more the most respected and powerful and not one that is shunned or laughed at.
Nuff said
Now to end on a lighter note for right now. If you haven't had the chance to go out and see the new Star Trek movie, go out and do it. You do not have to be a treckie or anything, this movie is fun and action packed not to mention just plain fun. If you don't like Star Trek then check out Wolverine another fun movie lots of action and good humor. If you don't like that well then I'm sorry maybe there is a documentry on the pine bettle or something you can go see I am sure that will be fun :)
Be good, Be fair, Enjoy Life, Laugh as much as you can, Do something kind for someone you don't know, Keep an open mind and remember if you take this too seriously it is going to be a long hard life.

And the gold goes to........
I am truly excited, tomorrow is the opening ceremony for the Olympics. Just to be sure that everyone understands this I am not being sarcastic. I love sports and to me there is no better venue for true competition than the Olympics. The greatest athletes gather together and compete, push their bodies to the limits to achieve a victory that can be equal to no other. There will high profile winners like Michael Phelps, and there will be amazing stories of upset, like Rulan Gardner defeating the Russian Bear who had been undefeated for 13 years. This is what I love. Unfortunately there is the political side to the games, for everybody who has been living under a rock the games are being held in China this year. Now there are groups and organizations out there who have decided that this will be their venue to protest China on its human rights violations, it economic policies, the price of rice, lead in their lead..... And the list goes on. I am not one to downplay the fact that China's policies and procedures are down right inhuman and despicable, but in a country of over 1 billion people the ones who are making the decisions equate to less than 1% of 1% of the population. For the most part as far as I can tell, the majority of the citizens of China are excited and proud to have this honored event to be held in their country. If you want to protest China's policies and history do you really think that screaming at a gymnast or swimmer is going to change the world? Do the right thing and protest the consulates, the ministry, and the central government. Write letters to your congressman and senators, let them know how you feel and the let them take action. I honestly believe that the men and women who are participating in the Olympics should be given the respect that they have most defiantly earned. They are not kings and queens, presidents and prime ministers, they are athlete’s period. They have achieved the highest pinnacle of their sport and are competing against others who have done the same. Now some people have decided to inject as much controversy into the games as possible, let’s run down some of these "despicable" issues ourselves.
1. Becky Hammon. Now unless you are a WNBA fan or are from South Dakota, this may be a name you are not familure with. Becky Hammon is a phenomenal basketball player who last year was the runner up for MVP of the league. She is well respected throughout the basketball community and is highly sought after for endorsements and to play. Now with that kind of resume you would think that she would be a shoe in for at least a tryout for the Olympic team....Not. She didn't even receive consideration or at the very least an invite to tryout. This is the all American girl next door, who can play the pants of most guards in the NBA. Well since the good ol USA didn't make her an offer the Russian's did. What how is this possible she is from South Dakota, and last time I looked that was still right below North Dakota and part of the USA. Well as it turns out since she has accepted a contract to play in the European league for the Russian team she has been given the opportunity to become a naturalized citizen and play for Russia. I am not mad at this girl, she has done nothing more than go out and be the best at her sport that she can be, she has been given the awards and alidades of being at the top of her game but when it came down to representing her nation at the highest level she was snubbed. So if it comes down to the wire and the USA is competing against Russia and Becky Hammon has the ball and is going for the game winning shot, I may just be pulling for her to make it.
2. The Beijing air. The US cycling team showed up at the Beijing airport wearing specially designed masks to help cut down on the intake of Carbon Monoxide in the city. Now they have to apologize for taking steps to protect their lungs from an area that has been inundated for years with pollution and smog. How dare them. Come on people we all know that in the last 10 years the population of cars in Beijing has increased almost 100 fold. There have been news articles over the last year talking about the pollution and how China is doing it's best to combat this issue. How can you really blame these athletes for wanting to take necessary means to protect themselves?
3. Will these games be clean? There was an article the other day on MSNBC about how it now coming to light that the not all the testing procedures that are being used today to test for performance enhancing drugs are reliable. With this revelation I am afraid that it will give those who are prone to cheating an argument if they come up positive, and on the other hand since some of these tests are actually coming up with false positives will it hurt the athlete who is clean and has just done their very best?
4. Terrorist. It is sad that we have to take such extreme measure to ensure the safety of not only the athletes but also for the spectators. There have been numerous threats and incidents leading up to the Olympics that for a lot of us there are images of the 72 Olympics when the PLO kidnapped and killed members of the Israel team. Let's hope that they are only threats and this is a peaceful and safe event.
So this year let us celebrate together, root for the small contingent from a free Iraq as they transcend boundaries, watch as a young man from Iowa tries to surpass his idols legacy of gold medals won in the Olympics. Let’s hope for some small victory as every person competes with honor and dignity, bringing pride to their country. Look for the upsets, the gimmes and just the sheer joy on the competitors as they give their all.
Let the games begin.

I love a good joke.....
For those of you who know me It is well known that I think that one of the biggest problems in the world today is that we have "Political Correctness" shoved down our throat on a daily basis. As I have said before I am not one to see color or sexuality or religion in another person. I don't really have it in me to be a prejudice person. I feel that being "PC" all the time is one of the many ways that keeps up from actually coming together as a nation, forgiving (not forgeting) the past and truly understanding one another. Why do they ask us on an application for employment for our sex or our nationality. Does it really matter, is my heritige of being Scotch/Irish/Scandinavian/Native American mean that I am going to be better or worse at a job than someone who is say Chinees/Irish. No not at all. Get rid of the preconcieved notions you have in regards to humanity and look at person for who they are and how they act.
That being said. I love good jokes, bad jokes, clean jokes, off colored jokes, military jokes, even jokes about Scotch/Irish/Scandinavian/Native Americans... so here are a couple of jokes that my good friend Misty sent the other day and I got a pretty good chuckle out of. Hope you enjoy
When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive....so, I took her to a gas station.....And then the fight started....************************************************************************
After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for SocialSecurity. The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver's license to verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later. The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'.So I opened my shirt revealing my curl y silver hair. She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me'and she processed my Social Security application. When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at theSocial Security office. She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too'And then the fight started.....***********************************************************************
My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and Ikept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table. My wife asked,' Do you know her?''Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took todrinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear shehasn't been sober since.''My God!' says my wife, 'Who would think a person could go oncelebrating that long?'And then the fight started.....***************** * *****************************************************
I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car.You know how sometimes you just get soooo stressed and little things just seem funny?Yeah, well I couldn't believe it.... he was a DWARF!!!He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, 'I AM NOTHAPPY!!!'So, I looked down at him and said, 'Well, then which one are you?'And then the fight started.....
